C.D. Doyle Clinic is a student-run, free clinic serving formerly homeless individuals through Mobile Loaves and Fishes’ HealthFirst! Initiative. We are currently serving approximately 15 Royal Palms RV community residents. Our goal is to address primary healthcare needs of this population while, simultaneously, elucidating and addressing the root causes of their medical problems. Clinic activities are entirely managed by UTMB medical students, along with a growing network of allied health students, including nursing and social work students. All of our work is overseen by faculty, from both Brackenridge Hospital and UT.
At this time, we have full access to Seton lab services, including volunteer phlebotomists from the Brackenridge lab. We also are working with counselors from the New Life Institute and UT nursing students to more holistically address the community’s health needs.
