One of the ways to consider giving is through our Mobile Loaves & Fishes Endowment Fund. This type of donation is especially helpful if you have received some type of windfall, such as profit from the sale of a business for which you desire to make a charitable gift in a particular year for tax purposes. Also, an endowment allows you to distribute wealth before or upon your passing and avoid high estate taxes (if applicable). There is no minimum investment and no limit on the number of times you can give.
Our endowment consists of multiple, separate funds that originate with gifts and are established in perpetuity. Interest earned from an endowment fund is invested to generate annual income, not all of which is spent. A portion is returned to the principal to protect the fund’s future spending power. This type of gift allows your donation to continue supporting our ministries on an ongoing basis.
Our endowment is currently held and managed by the Austin Community Foundation. Since 1977, the Austin Community Foundation has been the heart of philanthropic giving in Central Texas and currently manages over $100 million in assets for over 900 charitable funds.
