Community Tax Centers use volunteers each year to provide tax preparation services to low-income families. This year we have a goal of completing 20,000 tax returns–and putting $32 million of refunds and credits back into the pockets of those who need it most!
What does it take to volunteer?
- Complete 8-12 hours of New Volunteer Training – No Prior Experience Required!
- A commitment of just 3hrs/wk, or a total of 36 hours, between January and April
- CPE credits are offered for CPA’s that receive their IRS certification and volunteer the 36 hours requested
- A desire to give back to YOUR community
The CTC is currently seeking volunteers to serve as Volunteer Tax Preparers (no experience required), Intake Specialists, and Interpreters (Spanish). The time commitment is just 3 hours a week between January 14-April 17, with training beginning the week after Thanksgiving.
There are 10 CTC locations around Austin and Round Rock–you’ll be able to find a location close to home!
