MLF is excited to announce the position of Community Inn Coordinator.

The Community Inn Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Mobile Loaves & Fishes multi-unit tiny home bed and breakfast. What makes this bed and breakfast unique is a focus on inviting guests and volunteers into a lifestyle of service with the formerly homeless through their interaction with the Inn, as well as providing dignified work and income for Community First! Village (CF!V) neighbors who have experienced chronic homelessness. The Community Inn Coordinator provides exceptional customer service and education to all Community Inn guests, involving them in opportunities to connect and more deeply experience CF!V during their stay. The Community Inn Coordinator will steward the guest experience, host volunteers, coordinate the housekeeping process and housekeeping contractors, and ensure the maintenance of all Inn units.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Community Inn Manager. Due to the nature and requirements of the position, hours are somewhat flexible to fit needs, but typically include 9:30am-6:30pm Tuesday-Saturday. In addition, three Mondays a month at 8:30 am, there are required staff meetings. Some nights and weekends may be required. The Community Inn Coordinator will office at Community First! Village located at 9301 Hog Eye Road, Austin, TX 78724.

Mobile Loaves & Fishes has embarked on a new and innovative journey to transform how we care for the chronically homeless in our community. We have recently launched and developed Community First! Village, a 51-acre master planned community that provides affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for the disabled, chronically homeless in Central Texas. And we are now embarking on a second phase of community expansion, adding more than 300 new neighbors over the next 5 years.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Guest Support

  • Uphold and enforce Community Inn policy, procedures, and pricing
  • Steward guest reservation process and experience
  • Create and maintain a contactless and efficient guest after-hours protocol
  • Able to be on-call and offer incredible customer service to after-hour calls
  • Oversee special guest services
  • Able to understand and use reservation platforms and unit technology
  • Oversee and update guest guide booklets and digital guest guides
  • Oversee and maintain the guest check-in schedule
  • Communicate to all onsite guests within 1 hour of all inquiries and requests

Housekeeping Support

  • Be attentive and care well for each housekeeping contractor
  • Develop and operate within a system for recruiting and retaining housekeeping contractors
  • Create individualized systems that empower the housekeepers to do their tasks well, regardless of limitation or ability
  • Manage the weekly housekeeping schedule, and make daily housekeeping assignments
  • Create and maintain a quality control housekeeping system, that clearly communicates all specifics of the work that needs to be done to ensure optimal cleanliness of our units
  • Build in relational time with housekeepers i.e., work anniversary celebrations, birthdays, monthly team meetings

Community Inn Unit Support

  • Assess all units daily for maintenance and repair
  • Report all work orders and purchase requests to the Community Inn Manager
  • Understand and uphold Maintenance and Property Management protocol
  • Understand how to care for interior and exterior of all units, and have a full understanding of how all unit appliances, tank systems, and technology operate and function
  • Ensure every unit is set-up fully for each new guest
  • Maintain a full stockroom for all supplies and materials needed for the units
  • Maintain laundry service strategy and storage
  • Ensure the housekeeping service center stays organized, stocked, and clean

Stewardship & Community Inn Team Support

  • Attend weekly check-in with Community Inn Manager
  • Attend bi-monthly team meetings
  • Attend all mandatory MLF meetings
  • Promote a culture of high performance, goal achievement and a commitment to quality by implementing and leading a continuous quality improvement process within the Inn. Promote regular and ongoing opportunities for volunteers, staff and contractors to give feedback on Community Inn operations
  • Follow all Accounting policies and procedures
  • Stay up to date on safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all program activities operate consistently and ethically within MLF’s mission and values and in accordance with MLF policies and procedures
  • Other Duties & Responsibilities as needed
