As we all endure a new state of normal under the City of Austin’s Stay at Home Order, life in Community First! Village is adjusting to a different pace of life as well. One thing that has become increasingly challenging for the men and women who live in the Village is getting to the grocery store for their regular food purchases. As MLF oversees an increasing level of daily operations in Community First! Village, we also have a growing list of needs that we would be grateful for any assistance in acquiring.
Our greatest need involves food items for our neighbors. We could use donations of:
- Microwaveable meals
- Nonperishable food, particularly canned soup, canned tuna & chicken
- Bottled water
Here is a prioritized list of other items that Mobile Loaves & Fishes is currently in need of as we respond to the COVID-19 crisis:
- Toilet Paper
- Single-use thermometers
- Masks
- Gloves
- Hand soap
- Paper towels
- Clorox wipes
- Hand sanitizer
- Disinfectant spray for personal spaces
- Tissues
- Trash bags
- Disposable plates, bowls, and flatware
INSTRUCTIONS FOR DONATING ITEMS TO MLF:
Donated items can be dropped off at Community First! Village in front of our Unity Hall building on weekdays between the hours of 9:00am – 4:00pm. It is required that you first contact MLF to schedule a specific drop-off date and time. Please contact Carlos Guerra on our Resident Care team to make arrangements (carlos.guerra@mlf.org or 512.551.5447), and he will provide more specific instructions if needed.
Additionally, if you arrange for donated items to be shipped directly to Mobile Loaves & Fishes, please use our main address and direct your shipment to Carlos Guerra. Our shipping address is:
