Building Continues on Phase II of Community First! Village
We have closely reviewed the ‘Guidance for Construction Industry’ related to the City of Austin’s Stay Home-Work Safe Order, and we are confident that construction on Phase II of Community First! Village can continue. The two specific exceptions we’re basing this on are:
- Construction of facilities for individuals experiencing homelessness; and
- Construction of facilities that provide social services.
Community First! Village Phase II is considered Critical Infrastructure as defined in the order. Based on this, we are continuing to move forward with all construction on Phase II. This includes:
- Infrastructure
- Micro-homes
- Laundry/Restroom/Shower Facilities
- Outdoor Kitchens
- Entrepreneur Hub
We are extremely grateful to our construction partners and custom home builders who are continuing to work during this challenging time to help keep our Phase II project moving forward. This global crisis has heightened the need for us to move as quickly as possible to lift our homeless neighbors off the streets and into a permanent home at Community First! Village where they can be safe, cared for and surrounded by a loving community.
