We are grateful to be celebrating our fifth year of Christmas Goodness at Community First! Village, and it’s all because of you! While this may be the first Christmas at home for some of our neighbors, others have been creating new holiday memories around the village for a few years now.
In that time, our homeless friends have made their way home to Community First! Village. They have put down roots and settled into this safe and secure place to grow and flourish. They have found their place of permanence and belonging. They have found opportunity, dignity and community. Today, 180 of our formerly homeless neighbors have made Community First! Village their home for good.
Even in this joyful season, you and I both know that many of our homeless brothers and sisters are still struggling on the streets of Austin. For them, Christmas Day will come and go like any other day with no family and no place to call home. Our homeless neighbors will spend the day uncertain of where their next warm meal will come from or where they’ll sleep for the night. They are lonely, hungry and hoping to make their way home. They need your help!
